One of the most difficult things to understand after you come to faith is, where is this path taking me? When I came to Christ, a broken tormented man and ask for forgiveness the relief I felt was indescribable. I felt Gods grace and mercy! I was on fire for Christ! However, I wasn't sure what to do next. As a new creature in Christ it can be confusing due to many outside or worldly influences. Even other religious opinions or church doctrines can influence you on your journey. The best way to move forward is to educate yourself about what God requires you to do.
Matthew 7:13-14
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
In this parable the narrow gate is the way God wants you to go and the wide gate is the path that the world wants you to go. So if you focus your life on pleasing people instead of God, you are on the wide path of destruction.
1 John 2:15-17 NKJV
Do Not Love the World
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever
If you understand that verse it's quite obvious that if you are living a worldly life you need to start to make changes to live a more Godly life.
