I'm so glad you decided to start a journey into understanding the mysteries of God, Jesus Christ and the spiritual realm. I have had many personal Godly experiences that have led me to this point in my walk with the Lord. In my last post I asked you to take a step toward God and he will take a step toward you. The step you must take is called, "A Step Of Faith". For God to reveal Himself to you, you must first believes that he exists. Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. You must also believe that to understand God and who He is, you need to read the scriptures. The bible is not just a book written by many men over thousands of years, it's God's Living Word. The reason its called the living word is because when you start understanding and living what it says, God will use it to teach you and speak to you in ways that an unbeliever would never understand. The quote from the book of Hebrews speaks of diligently seeking him. That doesn't mean seek him a little bit, or pray to him once in a while. It means actively seek him, constantly seek him. Spend time to get to know him and His will for your life.
The Bible is an amazing book! Its compiled of 66 different books put together over time to create one book. The first translation to English was by a man named William Tyndale in 1535. Tyndale believed that people should read the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their own language. He was strangled and burned at the stake for his beliefs. The Bible today is used by many denominations thorough out the world. Here we are not focused on any group or denomination we focus on Gods plan for our lives and connecting with God through Jesus Christ.
Why Jesus? Great question. The reason why we follow Jesus is because all through out the Bible there are stories and references that Godly men had foretold of the coming Messiah or Savior. When I say Godly men I mean men and women that are so in touch spiritually with God that God uses them to reach people and document their stories. In the New Testament of the Bible the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and James tell first hand accounts of Jesus and his Life on Earth. In these books the story is told of Jesus coming to earth for the purpose to teach us how to live our lives. How to connect with the God our father. Jesus teaches on how were supposed to treat each other. It also talks about the miracles he had performed. But most of all Jesus was born to be the blood sacrifice for all of mankind's sin. When Jesus got nailed to the cross it wasn't just Jesus there it was all of humanities sin nailed to that cross with him. Never forget God is so righteous He hates sin! Every time we sin against God He stores up his wrath for us. For us to have a close relationship with God we must turn from our sin or how we call is to repent from sin. Romans 6:23(NKJV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. So when we live our lives in a way that is not pleasing to God we always have a mediator and that is Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5-6(NKJV) 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying God won't forgive you for what you have done wrong. There is a difference between living in sin and making a mistake. For example if you are going to church but your selling drugs on the side then your living in sin. If you get angry over something and start screaming at people but realize what you done and apologized then that is a mistake. Jesus himself said to repent. (NJKV) Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Jesus was talking to his disciples about who were the worst sinners. Its important to note that everybody's walk is going to be different. Were not hear to condemn people were hear to lead people to Jesus Christ, Lift up His mighty name and help people find there true purpose and that is to live for Him. Praise be to God!
